I remember saying those words to Gay. Told her the only creative thing I could do was cook. Told her my mom was creative, my kids are creative, but that gene must have skipped me. Well, with Gay, she proved me wrong. So, now when I'm at a show and someone tells me, "I couldn't do that!" I respond with, "If I can do it, anyone can."
You just have to find what trips your trigger in creating. For me it definitely wasn't beading. The stones and the wire spoke to me. Now, I would love to be able to do the Native American style beading, but, alas, my eyes won't let me. Just can't see those tiny little beads. I did one project and called it quits, not for lack of desire, but for my sanity and the frustration of trying to see.
So get out there, try something until you find your niche and start creating.
