I titled my first post "The Beginning," but was it? Yes, it was the beginning of my blog, but not the beginning of my jewelry making.
The beginning started in the Spring of 2009, when Dave and I were showing a visiting friend around the Bitterroot Valley. We stopped by West Fork Mountain Gallery in Connor, Montana, just down the road from Hamilton. Let me say before I go on that if you haven't been you need to go. It features lots of items from artists in the Valley. I am continually amazed at the talent here.
Back to my story, Gay (owner of West Fork Mountain Gallery) invited me to the classes on Wednesday and Saturday. I went but started with beading. Now beading makes me a nervous wreck. If you see I've strung a necklace, pat me on the back as it takes a lot for me to do that! Then I took a wire wrapping class, and, as they say, the rest is history.
For folks wanting to learn something, come for a visit on Wednesday or Saturday starting at 11am, Gay can teach you anything. Her talent is amazing. She is very patient and let's you find your own way. As to the classes, it's as much about having fun, meeting people, as it is learning. Bring your lunch and sit a spell!
